How this site makes money, and what that money does and does not buy.
The short version
We earn a commission when you buy a book through a link here. That is the only way this site makes money at the moment. It does not buy a better review, a higher position in any ranking, or a place in the library.
Every book on this site links to Bookshop.org and to Amazon. Both are affiliate links, which means we receive a percentage of the sale at no extra cost to you. Bookshop.org is listed first because it pays a higher rate on a longer cookie window and because it splits its proceeds with independent bookshops. Amazon is offered as a fallback for titles Bookshop does not stock.
These links carry rel="sponsored nofollow", which tells search engines not to read a paid link as an editorial endorsement. That is a technical detail you will never see, and it matters because it keeps our commercial arrangements from quietly influencing anyone else’s search results.
No publisher has ever paid to have a book listed here, and there is no mechanism by which they could. Books are chosen and described before any link is attached.
Courses are listed because they are worth knowing about. Nobody has paid to appear among them, and there is no rate card. Links to a provider carry the same markup as a paid link would, which is the cautious setting rather than a sign that money changed hands.
If that ever changes, a paid placement will be labelled as paid, it will sit outside any ranked list rather than inside it, and this page will say so before it goes live.
Product Digest is independent. If something on this site reads as an undisclosed advertisement, or a disclosure is missing where a paid link appears, tell us and we will correct it and record the correction on the changelog.
