How material here is sourced, written and corrected, and where the line sits between what we judge and what we sell.
A reference desk for people who build products. You should be able to look up a framework, take a template that implements it, find the book that explains it, and work through the exam that tests it, without being sold anything in the process.
Everything published here is written to be checked. Where a claim comes from a published source, the source is named and the passage is quoted rather than paraphrased into something we cannot support.
Concepts are written against the primary source, which for Scrum material is the 2020 Scrum Guide and the published competencies of the awarding body. Where a concept quotes the source, the quote is reproduced exactly and attributed, with the location given so you can read the surrounding paragraph yourself.
Practice questions are written from published syllabuses and learning objectives. We do not reproduce, buy, solicit or republish real exam questions from any certification body. Beyond being a breach of every awarding body’s terms, memorising leaked questions does not prepare anyone to apply a framework.
Every question carries a worked explanation of why the correct answer is correct. Where a wrong answer represents a common misunderstanding, the explanation says why it is wrong. A question with no explanation teaches nothing.
A book is listed because it is useful for a specific situation, and the entry says what that situation is. Descriptions state what a book actually covers, in enough detail that you can tell whether it is the one you need. We do not reprint publisher marketing copy.
No publisher, author, trainer or provider has paid to appear here, and there is no route by which they could. Affiliate links are attached after an entry is written, never before.
Ratings shown against a book come from a third party and are always displayed with the number of ratings behind them. An average of 4.3 from nine ratings and 4.3 from nine thousand are different claims, and hiding the count would blur them. Where no rating exists, nothing is shown rather than an empty row of stars.
The separation
Nothing on this site is a paid entry. No publisher, trainer or provider has paid to be listed, described a particular way, or placed above anything else, and there is no rate card to ask for. If that ever changes, anything paid will be labelled as paid and kept out of any ranked list. See disclosures.
When something here is wrong, we change it and record what changed on the changelog, with the date. We do not quietly edit a page and leave the record looking as though it always said the new thing.
If a page is inaccurate, out of date, or reads as an advertisement, tell us. Corrections are the point of publishing a policy like this one.
