Atomic Design

Frost's methodology for building interface design systems by composing small pieces into larger ones. The stages run from atoms, the smallest elements such as a label or an input, through molecules and organisms to templates and finally pages with real content in them. Having set out the abstraction, the book spends most of its length on practice, covering pattern libraries, tooling, documentation and how to sell the approach inside an organisation. There is a chapter on maintaining a system once it exists, which is where most of them come apart. Short, and the origin of vocabulary now used well beyond the original method.
