Product Management's Sacred Seven
About this book
Three product managers from Google, Facebook and Microsoft set out the seven bodies of knowledge they argue a product manager is expected to have. The seven are product design, economics, psychology, user experience, data science, law and policy, then marketing and growth. Each section is a primer written for somebody with no background in that field, so the economics chapter explains price elasticity and the data science chapter explains what a model can and cannot tell you. The book is aimed at interview preparation and reads as general grounding, which makes it useful to anybody moving into product from another discipline. It is the companion volume to Swipe to Unlock by the same authors, which covers the technical half of the same problem.
