Product Operations
About this book
Perri and Tilles describe product operations as a discipline with three pillars, which are data and insights, customer and market insights, then process and governance. The argument is that once a company runs more than a handful of product teams, keeping them supplied with data, research and a usable planning rhythm becomes a job of its own, and leaving it to each team produces duplicated effort and numbers that contradict each other. The book covers what the function does, how to staff it and what to measure, with case studies from Stripe, Uber and athenahealth. It is written for product leaders in organisations of some size, and a single team will find it premature.
