A Web for Everyone
About this book
An accessibility book organised around design decisions rather than around compliance checklists. The first part introduces personas covering people with different abilities and situations, including screen reader users, people with low vision, people with cognitive differences and people in temporary difficulty. The second part sets out design principles translated into concrete guidance on layout, navigation, images, forms, media and error handling. Each principle chapter closes with questions to ask during a design review, which makes the material easy to fold into an existing process. Written for designers and product people, so the emphasis falls on decisions made before any code exists.
