Who Does What By How Much?
About this book
Gothelf and Seiden reframe an OKR as a sentence about human behaviour, asking who you want to change the behaviour of, what you want them to do differently, and by how much. That framing keeps key results as measures of customer behaviour rather than as project milestones or counts of output. The book covers writing objectives, testing whether a key result really describes a behaviour, running the quarterly and weekly rhythm, and handling the awkward cases such as platform teams and regulatory work. It is short and worked through with examples, including a full set of OKRs for a fictional company. Read it as the practical follow up to a first quarter that produced the wrong sort of goal.
